Volunteer Projects

One of the many ways that volunteers contribute to the Museum is through maintenance, repair, upgrading structures on the grounds as well as building new structures. Each new season brings a list of opportunities for new as well as seasoned volunteers, to bring, share and learn skills while keeping the history alive. Here is a list of some of the projects currently in need of attention:

      • Repairs and modifications to various sheds on the grounds
      • Roof and other repairs on some buildings
      • Repair and build new benches
      • Caretakers house repairs: plumbing, electrical, chimney work
      • Brush clearing and chipping
      • Work on Giftshop chimney and eaves
      • Rebuild Lemonade Stand
      • Log Cabin repairs
      • Repair and build more picnic tables
      • Trail work
      • Small construction projects
      • Splitting firewood
      • Grounds maintenance, eg. mowing, outhouse upkeep; gardening/landscaping

Weekly volunteers chip away at this list year round. Other volunteer get-togethers are organized periodically.
