Sled Dogs at the Museum!
Winter isn’t here…yet!
Have some fall fun at the Museum watching and cheering on the sled dogs! They’re looking forward to snow and need to get ready with some rig racing on dry land. The Museum is hosting the fall meeting of the Maine Highlands Sled Dog Club.
Starting at the Museum, the dogs will run into the Penobscot Experimental Forest. Small teams have a two mile race, larger teams will tackle the longer route the spring Blackman Stream Alewife Run takes.
On Sunday, November 10, the dogs will run from 9-12, Museum buildings will be open until 2pm. Enjoy the day at the free event–stop in the gift shop to warm up with some hot chocolate and maybe find a Christmas gift or two!
