Leonard’s Mills

08fLocated on Blackman Stream in Bradley, Leonard’s Mills is at the actual site of an early pioneer settlement, identified by the remains of a stone dam and the foundations of several houses. Today, Leonard’s Mills is “alive” once again, as the Museum is represented by an authentic reconstruction of a logging and milling community of the 1790s.

Leonard’s Mills is named after Oliver Leonard, one of the earliest landowners in what is now the town of Bradley, Maine. To help you get a feel for the time period in which Oliver Leonard lived, click here to read a brief glimpse at this region during the late 1700’s.
